Celebrating the First Baby delivered in the Mother and Child Centre

A Milestone for Our Community

We are very excited that on June 25th 2024, we celebrate a momentous occasion in our community's history. Our new Mother and Child Centre, a beacon of hope and care, has welcomed its very first baby into the world. This joyous event marks the beginning of a new era in maternal and child healthcare for our community, promising brighter futures for countless families.

The Journey to This Day

The journey to this day has been one of dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment by the local team as well as the financial support of the Joanne Foundation. From the initial planning stages to the construction and finally the opening of the centre, every step has been taken with the utmost care and consideration. The goal has always been to provide a safe, nurturing environment where mothers and their babies receive the highest standard of care.

The first delivery in MCC

We are thrilled to announce the first newborn delivered at our centre.  The little baby girl and her mother,  are both doing very well. The skilled hands of the new midwife, Miriam and the medical team ensured a smooth and safe delivery, reflecting the expertise and compassion that define our services.

The Centre's Facilities

Our Mother and Child Centre is equipped with the necessary facilities designed to support mothers and their babies through every stage of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. Some of the key features include:

  • A Delivery Room: providing a comfortable and private environment for labor and delivery.
  • Neonatal Care Unit: ensuring the newborns receive the best possible start in life.
  • Postnatal Support: supporting mothers and their babies during the critical first weeks after birth.
  • Community Programs: Educational programs and support groups to empower parents with knowledge and resources.

We look forward to welcoming many more babies and supporting countless families in the doming years. Our vision is to create a community where every mother and child has access to quality care, and where every family feels supported and empowered.

Thank You to Our Supporters

This achievement would not have been possible without the support of our community, donors, and partners. Your generosity and belief in our mission have made this centre a reality. Together, we are making a lasting impact on the lives of mothers and children in our community.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. Here’s to many more joyful beginnings at our Mother and Child Centre!
